Alejandra Guzman about, I dunno 7 years ago maybe?

So many of you are like “who?”

Well for many of you out there you may not be interested in a review of her music since she’s a latin pop/rock artist hailing from Mexico.

However if you are interested in listening to music from other countries, are a fan, or just curious read on by all means.

Alejandra Guzman hails from Mexico as I said and was born in to Mexican Entertainment Loyalty. Her mother a prominent actress, Silvia Pinal and her father, Enrique Guzman who originally hailed from Venezuela. Her father was one of the first latin artist to sing contemporary rock and pop music back in the 60’s initially covering songs from doowop singers and 50s pop idols from here in the states. He was the Ricky Martin of his day.

Well Alejandra grew up in the business and she truly looked up to her dad and his career in music. Eventually she would have her own career and man is it worth typing about.

Ok, so how can I explain her? Well, Alejandra was a wild child in Mexico. Most women really were looked down upon (and still are ANYWHERE) for going out late, partying hard, having tons of sex, and just living as a free spirit. She loved rock mainly but of course always had a soft spot in her heart for classic pop tunes. She initially was going for a life of a dancer but as it usually goes she sustained injury that just wouldnt allow her to be a professional dancer so singer it was!

Her music… is a mix of pop and rock. She has this hard core Joan Jett -battery acid drinking- 3 pack a day voice and she sets it to pop music. Its definitely rock which is what I love the problem (which I always kinda had with latin pop/rock in the 80s and early 90s… hell even now) was that the music was a bit dated. I mean I love her music but she had this Cher circa If I Could Turn Back Time type of riff or melody to most of her songs. There is always a high level of cheese factor but it freaggin worked! Her song Mala Hierba (Bad Seed) was real. It was her. You knew she was talking about herself. She made NO APOLOGIES for what she does and who she is. She practically gets off on being a vixen on being sexual on being inappropriate. Latin pop/rock in general for me I always noticed was like 5 to 10 years behind music in the states and Europe. Only Spain really had a strong hold. It doesnt mean it was bad but ok for example, in the 80s synthesizers were the key…. they kinda died out by grunge but when grunge came about for us, they were starting to really dig synths! LOL. When Grunge was over for us, it was just getting started there. So this is really the only true flaw I had with her music but it was a flaw I loved.

I also love that despite it being hard rocking she still was capable of putting dance to that (never seen Joan Jett do that!) and I really liked it. I saw her in a live recording one New Years on tv though and she was diva- ing it up and it was horrible. Such a train wreck, I dunno how she is now but back in 1994 she didnt know how to handle stage mishaps and just going on with the show. The mic head piece (cuz she moves around a lot) wasnt working and she couldnt hear her music so you would constantly see her screaming off to the side of the stage and then you would hear her telling her dancers what to do “Look out for my leg!” it was just ridiculous.

Shes definitely (ok not definitely but it sure as hells seems that way) is still living the hard life, extreme smoker, drinking, party girl. Shes gotta be in her late 40s and its starting to show in her face BUT I DONT CARE. I love it. Shes fucking honest and she doesnt hide a thing. With all her issues and wackiness, she seems to be a very sweet person and truly enjoys life and thats what I love watching.

The pic I posted was from a few years ago. The recent ones, she honestly is starting to look like a drag queen of herself and I couldnt post it, I wanna post a pic of how I see her cuz she is that milf/cougar that rocks hard!

This video is really cheesey I dont lie. The song is probably cheesey too. I dont care! I really really like this song. I dunno why I just do. There is this moment build up in the instrumentation going towards the chorus that just gets me and its awesome.
